How do I find a pool coach?
Download the ChalkUp app, browse coaches by location and specialty, and book a lesson. You can filter by game (8-Ball, 9-Ball, Snooker, etc.), skill level, and price range.
How much does ChalkUp cost for players?
ChalkUp is free for players. You only pay your coach's lesson fee. No platform fees, no subscription required.
How do coaches get paid?
Coaches can accept payments through Stripe (credit/debit cards), cash, or P2P apps like Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, and CashApp. Stripe payouts are available on the Pro plan.
What if my coach doesn't show up?
Coaches set cancellation and no-show policies. If you paid via the app and the coach no-shows, contact support for a full refund.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
If the coach allows rescheduling, you can change your booking time within their reschedule window (usually 24 hours before the session).
How do I become a coach on ChalkUp?
Download the app, create an account, and switch to coach mode. Set up your profile, add services, and set your availability. The Free plan lets you start immediately.
Is there a fee for coaches?
The basic plan is free forever. The Pro plan ($19.99/mo) adds Stripe payouts, custom policies, marketing tools, and unlimited services. Try Pro free for 30 days.
Who pays for table time at the pool hall?
Each coach sets their own table time policy. Some include it in their rate, others require players to pay the venue directly. You'll see this on the coach's profile before booking.
